The Management ad Staff of the Villa Schuler welcome you and sincerely hope that every little service of ours would make your stay pleasant and comfortable. If we can be of further assistance to you, please feel free to contact or call our reception 24-hours on Ext. 9.

Being open 24-hours we kindly ask you to leave your room key at the reception whenever leaving the hotel.

Breakfast is served “à la carte” in the non-smoking breakfast room, on the panoramic terrace, in the palm-terrace pavilion or in your room from 7.30 to 10.00 am.
Clients wishing to have breakfast served earlier than 7.30 a.m. can order on the previous evening from
the same menu and for whichever time. If you need a wake-up call please contact the reception or call Ext. 9.

We provide a 24-hours bar and room service. Please contact the reception or call Ext. 9.

Each room has a satellite TV, a radio, a safe (no charges) and a direct-dial phone (dial Ext.0 to get the outside line).

Information for our clients arriving with a car:
- On our private hotel parking we do have 2 parking spaces for hotel clients (yellow lines “Riservato Hotel”). These 2 parking spaces are free of charge but cannot be reserved (first come first served). If you park there please leave you car-key at the reception.
- On the public parking in front of our hotel as also for most parking spaces in the town centre (white lines) you need a parking permit (PASS). The town ascribed us only one parking permit, so first come first served.
- If you prefer a guaranteed parking you can reserve a garage space in our hotel garage with valet parking for 12,00 Euro per day. The hotel staff will park the car; we keep the keys at the reception.
The garage is open from 06.00 to 22.00 hrs.

At the reception we do have postcards, stamps, a mail box for outgoing mail, excursion programmes that we can book for you, maps of town, bus timetables, and information about car rentals, tennis, surf, scuba-diving, golf etc.

During the summer months we provide a beach service to different beaches in our area with a regular shuttle-service (May to October) including deckchairs, umbrellas and changing-cabins. Information and tickets at the reception.
We kindly ask you to avoid taking the bathroom towels to the beach. We have specific beach towels to rent for a small fee.

All rooms have individually controlled air conditioning regulated by contact breakers of the double-glazed windows and balcony doors.

Ask the reception if you need one. For children below 2 years at 15,00 Euro per day.

We have a container for flat batteries at the reception.

In our hotel we do have various book shelves for our clients where you can also leave already read books. Our reception has a selection of English books and guide books about Sicily that we are happy to lend.

To the beaches leaving every 15 minutes between 07.00 and 22.00. In the summer months even later than that.

Not all car rentals in town provide their cars with the parking permit (Pass) necessary to park inside to town center. Information and reservations at the reception.

Check-out is 11.00 a.m. If you need your luggage stored for a later departure please contact the reception. For late departures we do also have a bathroom with shower. Please do not forget to empty your room safe leaving its door open. Payment in cash or Travelers Cheques in any currency.

Voltage in the hotel is 220V. On your bathroom-hairdryer there is a shaver socket for 110V. Electrical adapters are also available at the reception. The emergency lights in your room turning on in case of a black-out can be individually turned off.

Our environmentally orientated hotel management includes waste-separation for recycling, containers for flat batteries, energy-saving appliances, low-energy light bulbs, individually controlled air conditioning regulated by contact breakers of the double-glazed windows and balcony doors, solar energy for hot water production, reducing to a minimum the use of disposable crockery or non-returnable bottles, of canned drinks and portion packs, practicing flexible changes of bathroom towels, using ecological detergents and polishers, avoiding sealing outdoor grounds and using only natural fertilizers and plant-protective agents in our gardens.

The hotel is equipped with a state-of-the art safety and fire prevention system. In case of fire please inform our reception Ext.9. At each end of each floor there is a fire-extinguisher. In case of a fire-alarm please exit in as orderly a fashion as possible following the marked emergency exit and do not use the elevator.

The Italian law DPR 412/93 promoting energy savings fixes the ideal indoor hotel temperature at maximum 20°C (68 °F). Our central-heating system adjusts accordingly.

We are happy to help you organizing your onward journey and making hotel reservations.

Fire regulations prohibit ironing in hotel guest-rooms. We do have ironing facilities in our laundry that our clients can use afternoons and evenings. Ask the reception.

Our laundry service delivers in 24 hours. Laundry bags & forms at the reception.

Ask the reception for maps of town and of the area around Taormina.

Daily food-market: in the Via Cappuccini, from Monday to Saturday from 08.00 to 13.00 hrs. Weekly market for miscellaneous goods: Via von Gloeden, each Wednesday from 08.00 to 12.30.

At the reception we usually have some magazines. After reading you can leave magazines and newspapers at the reception for other guests. Ask the reception about where to buy in town newspapers in English.

If you wish not to be disturbed please hang the privacy sign on the outside door knob. If you wish to have your calls screened or do not wish to be disturbed by telephone calls please inform us dialing Ext. 9.

All our rooms are provided with a small empty refrigerator.

Ask us for suggestions and reservations. We do have an agreement with some restaurants in town offering a special menu for our clients for a reasonable, fixed rate of 16,00 Euro available through our restaurant card.

Open Monday to Saturday 09.00 – 13.00 and 16.00 – 20.00 Travel agencies in town are usually closed on Saturday and Sunday.

A ban on smoking in all public places such as hotels, bars, restaurants, discotheques and offices went into effect on 10 January 2005 as Italy joined a growing number of European countries imposing stricter restrictions on smokers. 10 January 2005. (Globalink news) Italy imposed a ban on smoking in all enclosed public places includinghotels, bars and restaurants from midnight on 10 January 2005. Businesses face a fine of up to 2,000 euros if they fail to ensure their customers do not smoke, while smokers themselves could face a 275 euro (360 dollars) for repeatedly ignoring the new rules. The new rules allow smoking in special sealed-off areas fitted with smoke extractors; however many bar owners say fitting the automatic doors and forced ventilation systems required by law is too expensive. At the moment the Hotel Villa Schuler has no smoking area of this kind, smoking is therefore only allowed in all the outdoor areas of our hotel: the palm terrace, the sun-roof and the garden.

In case of rain we do have umbrellas to lend.

In Taormina is officially safe for drinking. Our hotel provides supplementary filtering, decantation and natural decalcification through a deionisation processing, so without chemical additives. Water in Sicily is a precious resource so we would like you to join us in our effort not to waste it.
